Charter-Lea logo.
Chater-Lea of Banner Lane, London started its business as cycle component makers in 1890. By 1900, they were producing motorcycles and in 1907, they produced their first cycle-car. The 1913 model 8/9 had a Chater-Lea water-cooled 964 cc V-twin engine.
